Description

A C U Omega Purlin Roll Forming Line is a manufacturing system designed to produce lightweight structural steel components called purlins and girts. These are the horizontal beams used in metal buildings (like warehouses, sheds, and factories) to support the roof and walls.

Here is a breakdown of what it is and how a flexible line for c u omega profiles works:

1. The Product: C and U Profiles

  • C Purlins: Shaped like the letter “C”. They are used as roof supports and wall girts. The flanges (the top and bottom of the “C”) are usually the same size.

  • U Purlins: Shaped like the letter “U” (or a channel). They are often used as eaves struts (where the roof meets the wall) or as side rails.

2. The Roll Forming C TO U Purlin Machine: How it Works

This production line combines a decoiler (to hold the steel coil), a roll forming machine, and a cutting system.

  • Process: A coil of galvanized steel or cold-rolled steel is fed through a series of rollers. As the strip passes through each roller station, it is gradually bent from a flat sheet into the final “C” or “U” shape.

  • Flexibility: A key feature of these Perforated Planks roll forming machine is the ability to change the size of the profile. By adjusting the distance between the rollers (or changing spacers), the same machine can produce purlins of different web heights and flange widths.

  • Hydraulic Punching: Most modern lines include a hydraulic punching press that punches holes in the purlin as it runs through the line (for bolting the purlin to the building frame).

  • Cut-off: A flying die cuts the profile to the exact customer-specified length without stopping the machine.

In Simple Terms

Think of it as a highly efficient metal bender. You feed it a long, flat strip of steel; it molds that strip into a “C” or “U” shape; punches holes where bolts need to go; and chops it into precise lengths—all in one continuous, automated process.
